“Maker of dreamy folk songs.”
Llore is the moniker of Pittsburgh folk singer-songwriter Amanda Collins who is set to release her debut EP entitled Fictional Creature this Thursday (4/6) with a release show at The Glitter Box Theater in Oakland with guests The Herbal Remedies. I want to thank Amanda for taking the time to participate in this edition of First/Last.
- The first album you ever bought?
- I can’t remember… probably something by Mariah Carey.
- Your last album bought?
- Lemonade by Beyonce, which was actually given to me as a gift, but then all my cd players broke. The last album I downloaded via a streaming service was Advisory Committee by Mirah.
- Favorite album of all time?
- I am incapable of choosing one and it is never the same one.
- Least favorite/most disappointing album?
- I think the only times I felt disappointed by an album were times when I wasn’t ready to allow an artist to continue to grow and wanted them to keep making similar music which is more about me than about those artists.
- First concert attended?
- NSYNC at the Civic Arena.
- Last concert?
- Mirah at Brillobox.
- Favorite concert ever?
- Jenny Lewis in 20?? or Beyonce this past summer. I cried at both.
- Least favorite concert?
- Probably Brittany Spears which I skipped my first middle school dance for. I don’t remember why this happened, but I had serious FOMO.
- Favorite thoughts, experiences about Pittsburgh?
- My favorite things about Pittsburgh are the relationships I have with other strong, creative and inspiring women and the relief and joy in experiencing spring after the long and grey winters.
- Thanks, Amanda. That Jenny Lewis show fantastic. I met her afterwards and she couldn’t have been more nice.
