“The Neffs began in the basement of Jake and Gordy’s parents’ house in Pittsburgh after a long journey around the world with their family as Air Force kids. The two are brothers and have been playing music together for about 5 years. Jake was in various bands in high school playing bass and guitar as well as composing tons of what would later become Neffs songs. Gordy picked up saxophone in high school and went on to study formally in college while teaching himself how to play drums and guitar. The two met good friend and bassist Chris when they used to play with the (now defunct, RIP) Pittsburgh-based band “The Beauregards”, whom Chris was playing bass for, and recruited him as their full time bassist around the fall of 2012. They have been very involved in the Pittsburgh underground scene and have played with established artists such as Wild Nothing, Celestial Shore, Ava Luna, and Rah Rah.”…

Pittsburgh, Nick decided it was time the world heard his stories. He wrote a collection of acoustic-based songs with the modest goal of sharing them with anyone who would listen. Calling upon neighborhood friend Evan for musical depth, Nick got down to business in his parents’ home and recorded the tunes: what would become the Ella EP. Upon their return to Pitt, the pair showed their work to school friend and fellow musician/cellist Dan and his friend Mike Dice to fill out the sound, and the quartet began its musical journey together.”…

“WISC originally consisted of the acoustic duo of Jason Gamble and Brendon Bassler, who began playing together in 2011. After building and performing a large repertoire of original music (primarily written by Jason Gamble) the need for the group to expand became more evident. Over the next few years, the group gigged with several different musicians, finally settling on their current lineup in December of 2013 – with Josh Williams on percussion, and Nick Adams on double bass. The
goal had always been to have a brush oriented drum player, and an upright bass player to incorporate elements of jazz into the compositions.”…

Born in the jungles of Laos and raised on an arts and farming commune outside of Joshua Tree in the California desert, Life Leone got a crash course in guitar as a teenager from Nicky Hopkins of The Kinks. A quick study and natural fluency with music soon led to several years touring around the world as a drummer and guitar player of a variety of bands. Playing everywhere between hole-in-the-wall bars across the United States to the stage of Ozzfest, Life’s path took one turn after another and he ended up living in Da Nang, Vietnam…
